When I decided to start blogging my goal was to commit to at least one post a week and to visit my Followers sites to comment and support them. Unfortunately, with the class that I was taking last month it was virtually impossible. This particular class, Digital Story Boarding, was very demanding. The assignments took days and hours. It was incredibly frustrating and the first time since I started school that I seriously considered stopping. I felt like a machine and drawing wasn’t fun anymore. I pushed myself with the help of my Husband and made it through. Yesterday was the start of my next class, which seems like the work load is very light. Next month I’ll actually have 2 classes at the same time, so perhaps it is a break.
I thought I’d share my work throughout this past month.
I finished up my last class yesterday and the next one starts next Monday. The break will be nice but, I am sure by the end of the week I’ll be anxious to start the next class. My next class, Overview of the Media Design and Technology Industries, sound like it will be more relative to my major then the last two classes.
I spent most of this weekend binge watching Desperate Housewives on Netflix. During the summer I pretty much become a vampire. If it is extremely hot and humid I’ll spend the day inside in the air conditioning and go out at night. I hate summer because I hate being hot. The good thing about that is I have more time to work on drawing. This weekend I finished one project and got pretty far on another.
Someone I follow in Instagram posted this picture of Christina Applegate:
I grew up watching Married With Children so, I thought it would be fun to do a drawing of her as Kelly Bundy.
This is my version:
I sketch out the basic shapes, took a photo, emailed it to myself, drew the details and colored it using ArtStudio on my Ipad. Consider the fact that I hate drawing hands, I’m happy with the way they turned out.
This is another school project I had to do last week. The assignment was to take a survey that determines your character strengths, pick the top five, and create an image that represents them. My top strengths are judgement, appreciation of beauty and excellence, love of learning, honesty, and perspective. I believe that for the most part they are accurate. Here is a link to the survey if anyone is interested: http://www.viacharacter.org/survey/Account/Register
In my Psychology of Play class our first project was to touch on what our play personalities are. I whipped up the two drawings below to show my Artist/Creator side and Storyteller personality. Of course, I added cats to each!
