1.) The Body Shop Body Butter, Blueberry – $14.50 – Several months ago I mentioned the Strawberry scented Body Butter in a favorites post. When I was almost out of it I visited my local Ulta, but it was sold out. In fact, every scent that I’d actually like was sold out. So, I went on Amazon and low and behold I found a blueberry scented one! Amazon has several other scents too that I have not seen in stores. Anyway, I love this just as much as the strawberry. It has a very light blueberry scent that is not over powering.
2.) Nyx Cosmetics Butter Lipstick in Little Susie – $5.99 -This product came in last month’s Ipsy box (that I did not review). At first glance the color looks like a light pink/coral, but once I applied it I was surprised how bright it actually was. It went on very smoothly and was not sticky. I felt it was more similar to lip gloss, but not as sheer. This isn’t a color I’d typically wear, but maybe I’ll throw it into the rotation.
3.) OPI Nail Color in Bubble Bath – $9.50 – This is a very, very soft nude shade. I was concerned that it would require more then 2 coats to actually look like the color in the bottle, but two coats was plenty!
Hikari Cosmetics Mechanical Eye Liner in Storm – This is a dark grey eyeliner that has a little bit of sparkle to it. The formula is a little bit waxy, which made it difficult to apply. At $13 this product is a bit over priced for the quality it produces.
Pacifica Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow in Treasure – I received a sample of Pacifica eye shadow in another Ipsy bag that is a similar shade that I use quite often. The shadow goes on smoothly but, it isn’t very pigmented. The other downside is that the Pacifica shadows are only available in a palette and cannot be purchased separately.
Manna Kadar Cosmetics Sheer Glo Luminizer – This luminizer is very thin and liquidity. I’d recommend mixing it with some of your foundation before you apply it. It gives your skin a little bit of “glow” which is great for my dull winter skin.
Malin + Goetz Mojito Lip Balm
– I rolled my eyes when I saw another lip balm sample but, after trying it was pleasantly surprised! The smell/taste kind of reminds me of honey lemon Halls throat drops. The lip balm is very soothing to my over chapped lips. Unfortunately, it does not provide sun protection so I’d have to use it with a product that does or if I’m staying in doors.
Ipsy is beginning to disappoint me! I’ve had a Birchbox subscription before but, cancelled because I preferred Ipsy. Are there any other subscription services available out there? The Fortune Cookie Soap Box
is so much fun but, it comes out quarterly. The Spring box ships on February 9th and it appears it may be Alice in Wonderland themed! If you like soap/lotion/body wash, their boxes are worth checking out!
Wow, is it really 2015? I feel like the older you get, the quicker the years seem to fly by. I wanted to get back on track and do some Friday Favorites again. Usually over Christmas time I avoid the malls and other shopping centers because of all the craziness. Some people enjoy Holiday shopping, but I am not one of them. After all the Christmas posts I’ve seen, there are several products I’m dying to try! Here are a few of my favorites:
1.) Shea-Infused Lounge Socks – These socks are so incredibly soft and comfortable. I love wearing them when I’m just lounging around the house. I bought this particular pair at Bath & Body Works, but drug stores, Target, Walmart, etc. all carry them as well. In those stores you can usually find them in the foot care section.
2.) Eucalyptus Spearmint Aromatherapy Body Mist, Body Wash, and Body Cream from Bath & Body Works -I received the Body Lotion & Body Wash as a gift. The scent is very fresh and it is not too strong like some aromatherapy products. Bath and Body Works sells a whole line of products so I picked up the body cream and body mist. Does it really relieve stress? I have no idea, but it smells awesome.
3.) Anastasia Beverly Hills DIPBROW Pomade – After 4 years my Anastasia Brow powder hit pan so, I finally went out and bought this product. The consistency reminds me of gel eyeliner. The staying power is excellent and definitely prefer this over the powder.
4.) Vaseline Lip Therapy Lip Balm – In the winter time my lips are constantly chapped despite the various products I’ve tried to prevent it from happening. After doing some research, I read that Vaseline was actually the best treatment for chapped lips. Putting it on right before bed and sleeping with it on overnight really helps your lips absorb the moisture. The size of the package is perfect! It is a mini version of the typical Vaseline container that can easy be carried anywhere.
5.) Target Metallic Infinity Scarf – This is my very first infinity scarf and I love it! It is incredibly warm and has silver threading throughout the knitting. I’m a bit disappointed though because the weather has not been cold enough to wear it this winter. It’s too bulky and warm to wear as just an accessory.
That’s it for this week! Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
About a month ago I stumbled on a beautiful owl locket on Pinterest. After clicking on the link and looking at more of the product photographs, I concluded it was absolutely stunning and I had to have it!
I purchased the locket from a handmade jeweler, Valley Girl Designs on Etsy. If you browse through her inventory you will quickly see the unique exquisite hand crafted designs that go into each an every piece. I wear this piece quite often and have received many compliments on it. I’m a big fan of promoting independent sellers because I find that quality and craftsmanship is always superb. Valley Girl Designs also offers other jewelry items include bracelets, earrings and necklaces. Along with my locket order a small pair of wing earrings were included as a gift. I love the special personal touch!
I skipped out on my work’s Holiday party this year because I wasn’t feeling too well. This weekend I have two party’s to attend. My Husband’s work party is on Friday night at a hotel with a sit down dinner. So, I wanted to dress a little fancy, but not over the top. I found the perfect dress from The Limited and got a great deal on some heels from Modcloth.
I decided to go with a black and gold theme when I purchased this dress. Unfortunately, it is sold out online, but may be in stores still. I paid about $80 for it which is a great price!
The shoes I got from Modcloth on a deep discount for $25. Of course they are sold out as well.
Luckily I’ve had a black lace shrug already from when we got married 5 years ago. I hate taking large bag to functions like this, so I’m still not sure what I’m going to do about a clutch. I may check out some thrift stores or Target. You do not need to spend an exorbitant amount of money to look good!
As for make up, I’m going to try to do a black/gold smokey eye. I say try because I have never been able to master the smokey eye look. I’d love to be able to wear fake lashes as well, but when I attempted that last week I had glue stuck to my eyelid for two days. I’m going to go with a nude lip and gold nail polish.
