Blogmas Day 8 My Holiday Party Attire

I skipped out on my work’s Holiday party this year because I wasn’t feeling too well. This weekend I have two party’s to attend. My Husband’s work party is on Friday night at a hotel with a sit down dinner. So, I wanted to dress a little fancy, but not over the top. I found the perfect dress from The Limited and got a great deal on some heels from Modcloth.

party attireI decided to go with a black and gold theme when I purchased this dress. Unfortunately, it is sold out online, but may be in stores still. I paid about $80 for it which is a great price!

The shoes I got from Modcloth on a deep discount for $25. Of course they are sold out as well.

Luckily I’ve had a black lace shrug already from when we got married 5 years ago. I hate taking large bag to functions like this, so I’m still not sure what I’m going to do about a clutch. I may check out some thrift stores or Target. You do not need to spend an exorbitant amount of money to look good!

As for make up, I’m going to try to do a black/gold smokey eye. I say try because I have never been able to master the smokey eye look. I’d love to be able to wear fake lashes as well, but when I attempted that last week I had glue stuck to my eyelid for two days. I’m going to go with a nude lip and gold nail polish.

Blogmas Day 6

Today I have a festive drink recipe to share with you!

Another thing I LOVE about the Holidays is all of the fall flavors! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I LOVE ALL THINGS PUMPKIN! Anyway, I’m not much of a drinker, but my Husband loves “White Russians.” If you’ve never heard of the drink or had one they are a mixture of cream or half and half, vodka, and Kahlua. He also loves peppermint, so he purchased this flavored Kahlua this year as well as some chocolate vodka. He doesn’t actually measure anything out when he makes it, but I suggest using a tiny bit of vodka unless you like your drinks really strong. The ingredients are:

  • Pinnacle Chocolate Whipped Vodka
  • Peppermint Mocha Kahlua
  • Milk (regular, skim, 2%, half and half, or cream. Whatever your preference.)

Of course, the whipped cream and candy cane are optional, but the candy cane gives it an added peppermint flavor.

Blogmas Day 4

I know, I’m a day late with this one!

season special

This is my favorite ornament on our tree. About two years ago I purchased this from a vendor at Christkindlmarkt. It is a local event held in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania every year and is definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. Unfortunately, I do not remember the Vendor’s name, but the details are exquisite. The ornament is hand carved wood and has a small hole in the bottom to fit a tree light into it, so it lights up.

Ornaments, to me, are incredibly sentimental. I like to purchase at least one each year.

Do you have any Holiday traditions you’d like to share? I’d love to hear them!
